Amelie Rose’s 2019 Schedule is Go Go Go!

by | Oct 11, 2018 | Archived News (Live), Topsail Adventures News

The Clean Seas Odyssey Project was a wonderful sabbatical from our usual training and adventure fare but we missed the opportunity to share our world with more of you wonderful folks and Amelie Rose is a working boat at heart so it’s time to get back to doing what we do best. Read on to find out what we have planned for 2019!

As the twenty-teens come to an end we’ll be firmly in celebration mode here aboard the Amelie Rose as she’ll be reaching the grand old age of 10 on April 24th. The Festival du Chant de Marin will also be celebrating – in this case it’s 30th anniversary, so that’s high on our list of events to look forward to and is bound to provide a multitude of sights and sounds to delight the senses. Even better news is that we’ll be setting off from Falmouth for this, giving us the chance to run along the fascinating Cote de Granit Rose (Pink Granite Coast) of Northern Brittany, and then head back to blighty via the Channel Islands.

For every anniversary there has to be a beginning – and next year will also see the launch of what is already one of the most iconic wooden vessels to be built in the last 100 years. At 68 feet long (on deck!) Luke Powell’s new vessel “The Pellew” is going to be a behemoth. Rigged as a cutter she’s a replica of a famous Falmouth Pilot Cutter “The Vincent” and will turn heads wherever she goes. We’re going to be right there alongside the Quay at her launch and if you’re quick about booking you can come along too.

April, May and August will also see plenty of opportunities for you to try out the Amelie Rose experience on one of our Traditional Taster voyages, or have Nick and Amelie help you to tune your sailing skills on an RYA course as we get back to being “The prettiest school boat in the Solent”. If it’s sea-miles you’re after then there are no fewer than 5 mile-builders to choose from next year – pound per mile the best value Pilot Cutter sailing anywhere in the Channel.

Of course, no season would be complete without Isle of Scilly cutter Amelie Rose heading back to her ancestral home. We have not one but three opportunities for you to explore our favourite South Coast cruising ground next year. Come along and find out what makes the islands so appealing that we never fail to schedule a visit as we tour the stunning anchorages and wildlife packed coves that we love so much.

So, there we are, 2019 is going to be another stunner – and we can’t wait to welcome you all aboard to enjoy it.
