You’ll be joining us at Bucklers Hard on the Beaulieu River on the Saturday evening, where you can enjoy a meal at the Master Builders Hotel and meet the other guest crew. With food and introductions complete we’ll move to the boat where you’ll find yourself a bunk, stow your gear and have a look around. Before we head to our bunks we’ll usually have a chat about the plan for the following day.
Depending on the times of the tides at Hurst Narrows (or Bembridge) we may have an early start or the morning may be fairly relaxed but either way we’ll eventually head downriver and out into the Solent probably bound for either Cherbourg or Alderney. The rest of the route will depend on the tides and weather but typical destinations include; Cherbourg, Braye Harbour (Alderney), St Peter Port (Guernsey), St Helier (Jersey), Sark, Herm and occasionally Les iles Chausey or even the Plateau des Minquiers.
There may be some night-sailing involved and almost certainly a night or two at anchor as well as the harbour visits. We’ll be aiming to be back close to the Beaulieu River by Saturday night (probably in Yarmouth). This will leave just a short hop to get you back to Bucklers Hard with plenty of time to tidy up the boat and then head home on Sunday.
