With just three trips to go before we pack up Amelie Rose for the Winter our minds are turning to the exciting adventures that we have planned for 2012.
Our usual mix of Traditional Taster weekends, RYA courses and trips to the wonderful Isles of Scilly and Channel Islands will be crowned by an expedition to the fantastic Brest Festival 2012.
Biggest isn't always best mind and we'll also be visiting Fowey Classics - one of the friendliest festivals on the South Coast as well as playing with the rest of the Pilot Cutter fleet at the St Georges Cup in Yarmouth and the Pilot Cutter Review in St Mawes.
Festival Frolics
Brest Festival 2012

Whatever your interest in classic and traditional boats the Brest Festival of the Sea 2012 will be a spectacular adventure.
Every four years the Breton Port plays host to 2000+ boats and over 250,000 visitors from more than 25 countries in this colossus of festivals.
There's every kind of activity available, both on and off the water. Displays, exhibitions, live music and street theatre pack the quay-sides and literally thousands of wooden boats congregate in the basins of this historic port city.

Fowey Classics
Brest might be the biggest but Fowey must be the friendliest. Join the crew of the Amelie Rose as we visit one of our favourite West Country harbours to take part in Fowey Classics week.
Whilst not the biggest event of the year Fowey has a very special feeling all of it's own. With 70+ boats of all shapes and sizes clustered together in the harbour, Fowey Classics is probably the most relaxed and friendly of the classic boat regattas.
Gentle racing is interspersed with plenty of events ashore and good food and drink play a big part in creating a great atmosphere of camaraderie between crews.

St Georges Cup in Yarmouth
The first big event of the season, join us for a long weekend of spectacular racing in company at this Pilot Cutter extravaganza in Yarmouth IOW.
There'll be plenty of boats there making for a wonderful sight as they dress overall with flags and giving you the chance to look around these historic craft.
Over the weekend there'll be two days of races for us to test our mettle against the other cutters with the prize giving on Sunday night at the Royal Solent Yacht Club. You won't need a degree in yacht racing to enjoy yourself, just an appreciation for the finer things in life. This fantastic event is growing every year so come along and join in the fun.

Pilot Cutter Review in St Mawes
Sail along the stunning Dorset, Devon and Cornwall coastline to Fowey to join boats from all over the country heading to the annual Pilot Cutter Regatta in St Mawes for the highlight of the Pilot Cutter racing calendar.
The St Mawes Review is the longest running of the Pilot Cutter events and regularly attracts a fleet of 10+ of these magnificent boats. Our route should take in Weymouth and Dartmouth on the way down to Fowey where we'll meet the rest of the fleet who'll be assembling for the Tribute Passage Race to St Mawes.
There's great camaraderie at this regatta with an event every evening and plenty of banter and laughter shared between the crews. With a couple of days training en-route you be ready for the racing - there's no need for bulging muscles and a head full of rules, just turn up and enjoy this great event.

Traditional Tasters
It's not all long trips to far away places next year - our perennial favourite Traditional Taster Weekends are back again with plenty of opportunities to come out sailing on Amelie Rose without breaking the bank.
Depending on wind and tide we'll head West along the Jurassic Coast toward the lovely Dorset harbour town of Weymouth or East into the Solent to sample the atmosphere of picturesque towns like Yarmouth, Lymington or Beaulieu or maybe to drop anchor in a peaceful Solent anchorage like Newtown Creek.
Whichever direction we head we'll all have a fantastic time as you learn the ropes and get the hang of sailing Amelie Rose.
