Adverts and Garboards

Greetings from Topsail Towers!  (Well, from our flat in deepest Bermondsey actually...)

Big news this week as we finally start to unleash our world domination master plan by rolling out an advertising campaign in not just one but two of the UK's big boating magazines. In honesty this is more test marketing than a full campaign but the Ads are being released to coincide with some special boat show offers more of which later...

She's been framed - Amelie Rose Build Photos!

Summer greetings and more news from Topsail HQ. We've been busy since the Pilot Cutters in June, firstly sailing our current boat in the Round the Island Race (around the Isle of Wight) and then figuring out how to get video onto the website. We've also managed to upload a few more photos into the build section so you can now see the framing process in all it's glory!

(Nearly) Champions, the 2008 Pilot Cutter Review

We're just back from the Pilot Cutter 2008 Review and "World Championships" organised by Classic Sailing, and, as promised in our last news report, here's a whole bunch of photos that we managed to snap from the deck of Agnes where we were guests of Luke Powell (Amelie Rose's builder). Although a bit damper than last year, this year's racing at least saw a couple of days of decent breezes which gave everyone involved a chance to see these big boats doing what they do best - shouldering through the waves like the big wooden brutes that they are!

Updates Galore!

A big hello from all here at Topsail HQ! We're off to the Pilot Cutter review and "World Champs" down in the West Country next weekend, so thought we'd better get the website up to date with lots of lovely new stuff...

Naming Baby: No.7 no more!

Big news here at Topsail HQ as we've finally got the paperwork more or less sorted out in order to go ahead and release No.7's real name...

Topsail Adventures Launches Website!

A new sailing season is nearly upon us, and after 2 months of late nights and long weekends we are proud to announce the launch – not yet of the new boat – but of our new website!

Here you will find lots of information about our plans; plenty of pictures and updates about the build, details about our 2009 itinerary and lots more. We’ll also be posting regular news updates as and when they happen. Visit the site and register for our newsletter, and we’ll make sure that you are notified when we post more news. By signing up you’ll also gain access to the Build section of the website where we will post new pictures and details of the build as it progresses.

Whilst we’ve been getting friends and colleagues to test the new site we’ve often been asked: “Why No.7, is that her name?” Well, no, it isn’t. We do have a name in mind, but as she’ll be on the British Ships Pt 1 Register we have to apply for it to be registered before we can go ahead and announce it, sign up now and look out for an announcement soon…

Please visit the site, have a look around and tell us what you think - and don't forget to register so we can keep you up to date.

All the best,

Nick & Melisa
