Traditional Taster Weekend Breaks

Our "traditional taster" weekend breaks are the ideal way to try out the Amelie Rose experience and a great alternative to pounding the streets on a citybreak.

We generally head East to the busy harbours and peaceful anchorages of the Solent or West to the bustling port of Weymouth.

You'll get the chance to learn all about Amelie Rose, from hauling up sails to taking the helm, all under the watchful eye of the skipper.

Occasionally there'll be special events to attend and weekends can also be used to complete an RYA "Start Yachting" Course.

Celebrations Aboard Amelie Rose

Amelie Rose is a wonderful vessel to celebrate on and this is bourne out by the number of birthday boys and girls that we get on board. We often have groups who come together to celebrate a joint event and are always happy to offer full-boat booking prices.

We are also available for Wedding Celebrations, Anniversaries or on a sadder note for Scattering of Ashes at Sea.

If you want a gift for a birthday or at Christmas and can't afford a whole trip then we have gift vouchers in a variety of values that can be used toward the cost of any scheduled trip and if you've booked a big event but need something to give to the lucky recipient to unwrap on the big day then we can create custom gift vouchers too.

Festivals & Special Events

There's tons of traditional Boat events in our cruising area, along the South Coast there's big events like the Yarmouth Old Gaffers Festival and smaller ones like the St Georges Cup Pilot Cutter Regatta and the wonderful St Mawes Pilot Cutter "World Championships". Heading South to France there are some truely massive festivals like the Paimpol Sea Shanty and Traditional Boat Festival and every four years the Brest Festival is the grandfather of them all.

Festivals offer a unique chance to immerse yourself in the traditional boat scene. Spectacular sailing in company with other traditional boats means there's plenty to point your camera at and the wonderful camaraderie ashore will make you feel at home in no time. We love these very special events, they're unforgettable experiences and we make sure that Amelie Rose attends as many as possible throughout the year.

Adventures Further Afield

Longer adventures allow us to explore further afield, and there's some fabulous trips in store for this year. Highlights will include several visits to the West Country and trips to the Isles of Scilly and Channel Islands. The pinnacle of our season will be heading South to Brittany to attend the Brest and Douarnenez Festivals.

Being aboard longer will let you really get into the swing of being part of the crew of the Amelie Rose - the troubles of "normal" life will melt away as you take up the rhythms of the sea and time will simply fly by.
