Join the crew of Amelie Rose on this 5 day course and sail around the Solent area as you work toward your RYA Competent Crew or Day Skipper certificate. The Solent is packed with passage-making, pilotage and boat handling opportunities and Amelie Rose a fantastic platform on which to learn good seamanship. Whatever your experience and aims our RYA qualified instructors will develop a personalised training plan to ensure that you get the best out of your time aboard. Meet up with the rest of the crew at 1800 on Friday 5th for an optional meal at the yard clubhouse. We'll get the launch across to Amelie Rose at 1900 and once aboard show you around and have a chat about your objectives for the course. We'll be up early on Saturday, eat a quick breakfast and then it'll be on with the first training session. Our objective for this course is for the skippers and crew to gradually take over the running of the boat including all elements of deck work, sail control, navigation and boat handing. We're usually back on the mooring by 1600 on the Wednesday and after a quick tidy up will get the launch back to the yard. The crew often then has a drink together at the yard clubhouse while we debrief and hand out any certificates that have been earned. The price includes your berth, all food and soft drinks consumed aboard, the loan of wet weather and safety gear, fuel, berthing fees and RYA qualified instructor.
